Once upon a time, on December 10, 2020.
Rescue of a buzzard caught in a net,
located at the football field of our municipality!!!
.
In full period of pandemic, all wildlife care centers closed to the public, my husband and myself decided to intervene as soon as possible. I don't have full pictures of our action, because once on the ground, it took two of us to remove the remains of the net around its legs and body, while covering the wild bird with a towel to limit stress. We made sure there were no external injuries and the buzzard flew off towards the forest, an image I will never forget and one that gave me a lot of emotion.
.
The same evening, I sent an email, to our municipality and to the association for the protection of wild birds in our region, to inform them of the danger of these nets, unfortunately to my greatest sadness, and despite my reminders, I never got any feedback from them and these bird traps are still there to this day!
.
Conclusion: it's difficult for me to believe that the world will ever change and become better, but I will not give up and I will continue to fight for just causes, because that is my reason for living.
